The Road ID will solve all those dilemmas and then some. I actually feel safer just having it on. I really can't tell you how times my mom has said, 'What if something happens to you while you're out running for hours?' Now she can rest a little easier..
So guess what? You have a chance to win your very own! You can customize yours with whatever information you choose and there's even a line to put your own mantra.

For close encounters, the most amusing (b/c it worked out ok) was when I was testing bikes before I took the plunge to get my road bike, and I was on a bike that was way too tall for me. I couldn't stop, and finally broke my speed by hittin gthe car in front of me!! The driver and I were not amused, but an observer said, "Isn't it usually the other way around?!"

P.S. Couldn't tell whether we were supposed to enter once or multiple times, so I opted for the latter...but erase my other entries if I'm cheating! Thanks again!!

ReplyDeleteI would get a Red sports ID for my husband or a shoe ID for him.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any near misses running but my husband has. He was running on a road without shoulders and came to a bridge and a car didn't slow down or move over - nothing. It could have been an awful phone call for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this amounts to $5 to charity but I bought 2 presents for my husband from Road ID (not an ID but reflective things) and they put a portion of that to the autism speaks charity.

ReplyDeleteI like the ankle id in red...
ReplyDeleteNear miss, cycling going downhill and was distracted, went off the road and off my bike, with some nasty roadrash and a swollen knee. Luckily a car stopped my dad that was riding ahead and told him to go back for me!
ReplyDeleteI would choose the wrist id elite, yellow. The closest encounter I had was as a new cyclist I underestimated my timing & was cycling back at sunset. It wasn't safe and I had no light gear going down back roads as cars approached. I am a student & was lucky enough to have my mother come meet me and follow me back. Next time I will be prepared.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity. It will be a lifesaver.
(ps. I followed all the rules!) :) Thanks again.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was living in Provo I had a near miss while I was running a long run and I was in American Fork. I waited at a stop light until I had the walking hand. I started to go but a car didn't get the message that they had a red light and decided they would gun it through the intersection... it was a def. near miss.. my hand touched the car but I had moved out of the way just in time. Talk about scary!!
ReplyDeleteI'd get the sport ID in black.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh the hilton has never looked prettier.

ReplyDeleteNear miss - I was actually run off the road by some guys in a truck while I was out running. They ran me off the road on purpose and thought they were pretty funny! I failed to find the humor in it.
ReplyDeleteI am your most dedicated follower:) I want to win!! I also liked Road ID on facebook and I have no idea what twitter is ha!

ReplyDeleteI'd love a wrist elite with a red band.
ReplyDeleteClose encounter: cars a little too close to me when out running and I had to jump over a little. Another time I was riding up a canyon road on my bike and a car came right up behind me and honked. I almost fell off my bike. I wasn't too happy about that.
ReplyDeleteNothing too dramatic, but they always make my heart skip a beat.
