I'm sure you're curious to know which song Mary actually sang to me....
I know, could she be any more awesome? When this song comes on I literally sing out loud as I'm running.
Do you have a song that pulls you out of that 18 mile funk?
Do you love Mary as much as me?
Any other tips for getting through a 'down' moment in a race?
(I don't like calling it a wall)
I wanted to say "hi"! I found your blog on the 1000 mile spread sheet. I live in Wy and have loved reading about your 12 in 12.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite power running song right now is "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera. Love it!

I'm still laughing from your video last night.
ReplyDeleteHow did you not stop and break into dance moves when this song came on? I can't even type this comment without moving all over the place...
ReplyDeleteLoved Laurie's comment.
ReplyDeleteblack & yellow - what?
I agree wth EMZ. but, I am totally into The Cataracs lately. They were in on "Like a G6".
ReplyDeleteLove the "Bass down low"
I never listen to music while running, so I can't help you here! But when I hit bad spots in a marathon, I just remind myself that it will pass. And it always does, to some degree or another.
ReplyDeleteNice! Mary rocks!
ReplyDeleteWhat pulls me out of a late mile slump varies by the day.
I love finding local bloggers - what races are you doing locally this year?
ReplyDeleteI too just found your blog - my eighteen mile funk is more like a nine mile funk (I'm training for my first half marathon) but a couple of my current favorite run songs are "Not Myself Tonight" by Christina Aguilera, "Raise Your Glass" by Pink, and my most favorite, a remix of "U+Ur Hand", also by Pink. As a bonus it's more than six minutes long so it carries me a long way. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm adding your song to my playlist now!
I dont know Mary...but I like it--coulda used that at 18 in AZ myself:)
ReplyDeleteKinda afraid to admit this as a dude, but I've got "Just Fine" on my ipod ... love Mary J
ReplyDeleteawesome! i love adding new songs to my list and you can't go wrong with a little mary.
ReplyDeletei have nothing to talk about regarding running, unlike the other 2000 people who read your blog.
ReplyDeletemary, on the other hand... girl can BLOW! let's talk about her forever, mmm'kay? i want this song played as they're lowering my casket into the ground some day. even my casket will have swagga.
I saw Mary in concert at Lilith Fair last summer. She's awesome!
ReplyDelete"Remember the Name" by Fort Minor is one of my favorite running songs, along with "Touch Peel and Stand" by Days of the New.
