uno dos tres catorce

ummm... who get's vertigo?  yeah, maybe your grama.  or maybe your mom or dad.  how bout your 35 yr old friend?  yeah, that's right.  i have vertigo.  literally.  i have vertigo.  currently everything is spinning.  been to the doctor.  going to a specialist tomorrow afternoon.  how do you cure vertigo?  chinese medicine.  acupuncture.  supplements.  resting for a couple weeks.  not moving, lying down.  taking it easy.  hmmm.  i should get right on that.  seeing how i have to run my hardest marathon of the whole 12 series this saturday.  it should be no problem.  holy crappers.  i'm just hoping i don't fall off the mountain.  maybe i'll text bono and see if he has amy remedies...

  1. I have it. It is very annoying. There are some meds that are anti vertigo, does not really work for me. I want to try acupuncture because these meds don't help. what kind of specialist will you see?

  3. You know what will be awesome? When you get randomly cured by what you thought was some "whack job" remedy and turn around to make minced meat pie out of the race! It's going to be epic.

Really though, I would suggest something other than minced meat pie. I am not a fan in the least. Maybe a nice peach cobbler? I'll bring the vanilla ice cream.

I'm rooting for ya'! I've had momentary vertigo and then temporary vertigo in the last half mile of last year's half marathon, but nothing that didn't go away on it's own.

    Best of luck.

  5. 2x olypmic bronze medalist in diving, Mary Ellen Clark suffered from vertigo. Apparently CranioSacral therapy helped. I also heard it was caused by an ankle injury...

  7. That sounds miserable, without or without upcoming marathon. I wanted to tell you that every time I hear that Mary J. Blige song "The One", which I added to my running playlist after you recommended it, I think of you and your dozen marathons. You're a rockstar! I'm running my first half on Sunday and I know if you can do a dozen, I can do one half. I hope you feel better!

  9. Oh no, that sounds awful. Hopefully you're feeling better by this weekend. Maybe all you need is some of our lovely PacNW air and you'll be cured. :)

  10. i get bouts of vertigo and i am 42, have gotten it since my late 30s, it is horrible. i hated it. and yes NO cure. the doc gave me medicine that is supposed to make you not dizzy yet it may cause dizziness ??? then the exercises they tell you to do basically brings the vertigo on ....they have you throwing your head around and it is nauseting. my good friend has it - she hit her head pretty bad and has been getting bouts. they also told her she has menieres ....i am so sorry you have it. i do think the exercises help - they are just hard to do. i am convinced mine was possibly allergy or hormone related.
