Really, during the summer, thank goodness that I can pull my thoughts together on Thursday. ;)
1. I did my first REAL track workout ever today. Yasso 800's!!! 6 x 800's with a goal of running each 800 in 3:40. 4 out of 6 went really well. 5th one was closer to 3:50 and 6th one was 4:00 but I blame it on the high school football team that spread out over 50 m of the track and I had to weave in and out of them. Crazy hard workout but finished feeling great.
2. My IT band is healed. Can you believe it? I can't. No pain in my knee or down my quad or outer thigh. It's amazing. I'm taking it as a sign. A sign that things are actually possible to run a 3:40 in less than 8 weeks. Can you hear me screaming? I'm feeling a little all-consumed with it right now. I have to literally say 'om' at least once a day to not feel completely overwelmed with this goal. Stomach in throat overwelmed.
3. There are some new music mixes to upload for your listening pleasure! We even threw in one for the kids for those long road trips to the lake, the beach, the park...wherever. Hope you enjoy!
1. I need to do a real track workout... maybe one day :)
ReplyDelete2. AWESOME. I love running pain free!!
3. Yay!! I love your mixes!!
Hooray for pain-free!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the Yasso's!
ReplyDeletefantastic news on the IT (I'm whispering so I don't jinx it or tick it off).
I think it'd be great if we could hide those big, audacious and scary goals somewhere in our head away from the rest of our brains then bring them out on race day so we didn't have to spend the weeks before getting all uptight about them.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the track workout. I do mine on Tuesdays and had 8x800Ms this week. HARD!
ReplyDeleteYay for healed ITB!!!! WOO HOO! :)
7 weeks and 2 days until Pocatello!
i think i love track workouts! i have a really hard but rewarding ladder workout at the track on tuesday! eeekkkkk :)
ReplyDeletei'm lovin' the DJ Bernie B mix from 07.11 :)
ReplyDeleteI have never done a track workout. Sad but true. And I did 6 x 800s today, but mine were all 4:00 and on the treadmill. You are a rockstar.
ReplyDeleteI can't even begin to imagine a 3:40 marathon. But you will rock it!
Hey, great blog.
ReplyDeleteI met your super hottie mommie today. ;)
She came to our Branch in little Mayfield Ky. Steve told me "hey, her daughter runs marathons too" and you mom and I hit it off immediately. She tells me you are runnning the Poky marathon, and aiming for a BQ. My sister is running Poky... (and one of my brothers lives there) Also, I ran Boston in '08. I am certain you can get your 3:40 in Poky. The elevation chart looks ideal for a speedy run.
Any who... I plan on being a loyal follower. Happy Sunday!!!
800's are TOUGH!!!! good work in getting to the track :)
